Nissan name first employed in 1930sIn 1928, Yoshisuke Aikawa founded this holding company Nihon Sangyo (日本産業 Asia Industries or Nihon Companies). The name 'Nissan' originated through the 1930s as an abbreviation[14] applied to the Tokyo stock current market for Nihon Sangyo. This company was the famous Nissan "Zaibatsu" which included Tobata Casting and Hitachi. At this time Nissan handled foundries and auto parts businesses, but Aikawa did not necessarily enter automobile manufacturing till 1933.The zaibatsu eventually grew to add 74 firms, and became the fourth-largest within Japan during World Warfare II.In 1931, DAT Jidosha Seizo became affiliated with Tobata Casting, and was merged in to Tobata Casting in 1933. As Tobata Casting seemed to be a Nissan company, this was the beginning of Nissan's automobile manufacturing.
