Zündapp was an important German motorcycle manufacturer founded in 1917 in Nuremberg by simply Fritz Neumeyer, together with the Friedrich Krupp AG plus the machine tool manufacturer Thiel within the name "Zünder- und Apparatebau Grams. m. b. H. " as a maker of detonators (Zünder- und Apparatebau is usually German for Igniter in addition to Apparatus). The primary Zündapp motorcycle was the actual model Z22 in 1921. This was the Motorrad für Jedermann ("motorcycle regarding everyone"), a simple, reliable design that was manufactured in large series. Zündapp's history of hefty motorcycles began in 1933 using the K-series. Coming from 1931 Ferdinand Porsche in addition to Zündapp developed the prototype Auto für Jedermann ("car with regard to everyone"), which was the first time the name Volkswagen was used. After WWII this company transitioned to smaller machines, notably the "Bella" powerplant scooter, which was a relatively heavy machine due to the type. As soon as the bankruptcy, the entire production line and intellectual properties seemed to be bought by Xunda Motor Co., Tianjin, China. They produced small Zündapp motorcycles from 1987 till earlier 1990s. Zündapp is still operational, but makes Honda centered 4-stroke motorcycles and electric mopeds.Zündapp also had any technical collaboration with Noble Enfield (India) to develop mopeds and motorcycles. A dedicated factory seemed to be built at Ranipet near Chennai inside early 1980s to production small, lightweight two-stroke motorcycles to be offered with their flagship Royal Enfield Topic. Enfield launched two 50 cc motorcycles first, the step-thru Silver Plus along with the 3-speed Explorer motorcycle. Later, 175 cc Enfield Fury (depending on Zündapp KS175) was introduced like a performance motorcycle. It had 5-speed gearbox, a hydraulic Brembo disc brake plus a sleeveless hard chromed cyndrical tube barrel, all were a first using a motorcycle in that state.
