The first Zündapp motorcycle was the actual model Z22 in 1921. Through 1931 Ferdinand Porsche along with Zündapp developed the prototype Auto für Jedermann ("car intended for everyone"), which was the very first time that the name Volkswagen seemed to be used. They produced small Zündapp motorcycles from 1987 till their early 1990s. Zündapp is still operating, but makes Honda based 4-stroke motorcycles and power mopeds.Zündapp also had any technical collaboration with Royal Enfield (India) to build mopeds and motorcycles. A dedicated factory seemed to be built at Ranipet near Chennai from the early 1980s to production small, lightweight two-stroke motorcycles to be offered with their flagship Royal Enfield Topic. Enfield launched two 50 closed circuit motorcycles first, the step-thru Silver Plus as well as the 3-speed Explorer motorcycle.
